|
|
07-04-2011 With just days to go before the start of the season, Christian Montanari is ready to line-up for the upcoming 2011 Superstars Series season. The 29-year-old racer from San Marino will be back on-track aboard a BMW M3 E92 Coupé fielded by RGA Motorsport, returning with the team he partnered in 2010. He'll line-up together with a new team-mate, former Azzurri world skier Kristian Ghedina.
The series, reserved to the top V8 production-based saloon racecars, is still on a rise, with ten brands set to compete this season (Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Jaguar, Lexus, Maserati, Mercedes and Porsche) and a top-notch national and international TV Coverage. In Italy, the 2011 Superstars Series will be broadcasted live, free-to-air by Rai Sport, while MarcaTV and MotorsTV will be covering the races live in most part of Europe.
Christian will be back running this weekend at Monza, before landing, together with the whole Superstars "circus" on the best racetracks of Europe. Races will be held at Valencia and Portimao in May, while Misano, Donington Park and Spa-Francorchamps will follow this summer. The 2011 grand finale will be back to Italy, with the last two events running at Mugello and Vallelunga.
The weekend schedule at Monza will be taking-off with the running of two free sessions on Friday, followed on Saturday by the official practice sessions, starting respectively at 9:40 and 12:20, and by qualifying at 16:30. The two races will be taking-off on Sunday, on a 25-minute + 1 lap distance, at 11:40 and 16:40.
Christian Montanari "I'm extremely proud to be back on-track for a new Superstars Series season with RGA Motorsport and I want to thank them for having re-signed me for 2011. The team did a good job during the winter to develop our car, and we're looking forward to the start of the new season!"
