Mechanical issues force Christian Montanari to double retirement

25-07-2010 Christian Montanari had a tough time in the Superstars Series round at Mugello.

The driver from San Marino, who lined-up behind the wheel of the RGA Sportmanship BMW M3 E92, was forced to retire twice in the two races after having scored a valuable top-5 spot in qualifying. The whole event was conditioned by a penalty received at the end of the session due to a minor infringement. Water temperature issues caused then a double retirement.

Christian Montanari
"Unfortunately we were forced to retire on both races due to temperature issues. After a tough start (we missed collective testing after the team's transporter was stolen), we rebounded well in qualifying with a top-5 spot. Then, we were disqualified for a small rear wing issue. In the two races, we were forced to retire due to engine temperature problems after some good recoveries in the first laps."
