25-08-2010 Interview with Christian Montanari, Driver of Team RGA Sportmanship - BMW M3 E92 in the Superstars Series and N.26 of Nazionale Piloti.

Last race in Mugello wasn't very luck for you: due to the disqualification in the qualifying, the engine problems in both races you couldn't complete two beautiful comebacks. Next race will be in the end of August: what do you expect from the weekend of Varano?
"I expected to do a better weekend in Mugello. There were the right conditions: especially after the fifth time in qualifying. Unfortunately the disqualification arrived for a small irregularity that compromised our weekend. We know that there is a lot of work to do: the team is doing a good job because the potential is coming out. We have a podium in Portimao and to the final race we still have four weekends."

In the head of Superstars Series there are Thomas Biagi with 106 points and Luigi Ferrara with 105: in your opinion who is the favourite to win the championship?
"Hard to say. Both are supported by a good technical package: it will fight until the last race and I hope to be near them."

In the opinion of the fans, the motorsport can give fantastic emotions: what is the speed and competion for you?
"For me, races and speed is fun: I think it's one of the most adrenalin sport in the world. Every race can always give me new emotions."

F1 World Championship of 2010 is now in a agonism moment and in an important balance: 5 drivers in 20 points. As a driver and sport man what we will expect for this final part of the season?
"We watched a strong power of Red Bull but there are five drivers who can battle for the title. It certainly will be a nice end of the season although I think only 3 drivers can battle until the ends: Webber, Vettel and Alonso. Fernando is currently the fastest, the most technical and most calculator but unfortunately for him it will be very difficult because of the Red Bull technical package is currently the strongest: in the slow and speed tracks, with bit or high grip."

When we were child, each of us has a myth to follow. Can you say us who was your myth? Today is he the same or year by year do you change your ideas?
"When I started to watch the races of F1 there was Ayrton Senna who won every race. When I started to drive there was Michael Schumacher: a great driver, he is meticolous in the preparation, coolness and determination. And he is also a great person out of the races: features that I like a lot!"

As your fans know very well, you are an important driver of Nazionale Piloti. What do you like of the team?
"I started playing with Nazionale Piloti in 2002 during a match in San Marino. I remember with plasure the climate that I found. From this match, every game is fun. It is born a great relationship with everyone from Mario, Barbara, Monica, Gianni, Davide and the unforgettable Ennio! Everywhere I go to play, I seem to be at home."

In every match you go to the field with some teammates such as Schumacher, Alonso and Trulli: can you say a particular episode that you lived with them and that you impressed?
"My life with Nazionale Piloti began as I said in 2002 and it was also the first year of my career in cars. I usually watch these superstars of two and four wheels in television and I think that is impossible to play with them in the same field of football. But..In 2002 I was there too!!! I was very excited and I was very embarrassed: there was Michael Schumacher, Jarno Trulli, Giancarlo Fisichella, Max Biaggi, Emanuele Pirro, Pierfrancesco Chili. They were all very kind! It is an one big family: we try to fun the people and we try also to help the people in need."

August is holiday time: you've already decided a particular destination to relax or do you think only to train?
"The summer is the right moment to have a break with friends: this year I stay in Italy. Anyway I will not forget the training."

"I'd like to wish a good holiday to all my friends. See you soon!!!"
